Latency Hammer

Developed in-house at Tactual Labs, the Latency Hammer is a low-cost, high precision, and high accuracy tool that measures the interface latency of capacitive touchscreen devices.

Latency Hammer

A publication describing the Latency Hammer was presented at CHI 2016:

Jonathan Deber, Bruno Araujo, Ricardo Jota, Clifton Forlines, Darren Leigh, Steven Sanders, and Daniel Wigdor. (2016). Hammer Time!: A Low-Cost, High Precision, High Accuracy Tool to Measure the Latency of Touchscreen Devices. In Proceedings of the 2016 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI '16). ACM, New York, NY, USA, 2857-2868.

We will be releasing full design documents for the Latency Hammer under an Open Source license in the near future. If you would like to be notified when they are available, please send an email to latency.hammer@tactuallabs.com
